ENERGY 2001—OUR RESULTS

In addition to removing harmful pollutants from our air, Energy 2001’s power plant generates tens of millions of kWH (kiloWatt Hours) of electricity every year, which is then fed into the local energy grid and sold to utilities to help power our communities.  Energy 2001’s 5 mW plant currently generates enough electricity to support more than 3,000 homes and businesses annually.

A portion of the proceeds from electricity sales are paid to the local Waste Management Authority (WPWMA) as royalties, which helps to offset the cost of landfill operations for local ratepayers.

The graphs below chronicle what has been a decade of strong growth and unprecedented expansion for Energy 2001—a doubling of our power generation capacity, and ever-increasing support for Western Placer County’s Waste Management Authority.
